I have just received a phone call and email from Kamai VanAken Krueger,
great-granddaughter of John Jay VanAken (g, g, grand of Hiram Adelbert
VanAken born 1851). She and I have been in touch for several years.
She informed me of the web page.
I am a decendent of Hiram VanAken as well, but am the granddaught
Frank Van Aken (great granddaughter of Hiram Adelbert VanAken).
My name is Linda VanAken Van Doren and I live in Forest Grove, Oregon. My
grandfather (Frank) migrated to Oregon from Montana in the early 1900's and
this is where our family settled and still lives. I would be happy to
exchange information with you about our line and yours. I had traced t
geneology back to Levi (born 1801)and Caroline Crane and am excited to find
more information dating back to Pieter, born 1680.
One bit of interesting information. Apparently my grandfather, Fran
dropped the capital A from Van Aken and all of us have spelled our last name
"Vanaken". The reason is unknown. My family did not know of the other
spelling until I came across birth and death records of Hiram and Susan Van
Aken some years back.
