"Another automobile accident is reported to have occurred on the
State Road between Parksville and Liberty near the residence of a
Mr. Tremper when Grossman, a feed dealer at Parksville, ran his
truck with a five passenger touring car belonging to F.B. VanAken of
Parkston.
"Grossman, with his ten or eleven year old boy, was about to
approach the State Road from the Revonah Lake Road without any
warning, according to VanAken, when VanAken, on his way to Liberty
with four passengers from the Isenburg farm of Parkston, came along
the State Road.
"VanAken, seeing the two cars were coming head on, at the turn of
the road steered his car away from the truck, but Grossman and his
boy continued driving their truck, which had no emergency brakes,
straight ahead and struck VanAken's car in the running board,
shoving that car across the road into the ditch turning it half on
its side, smashing a hind wheel, cutting the running board in two
and bending the radius rod. The occupants of the touring car were
badly shaken up and bruised. The fore wheel of the truck was smashed
and spring radius rod bent, but no injuries were suffered by
Grossman and his son."
