Marinus Van Aken
married Pieternelle De Pre 11 Apr 1683 Cadzand, Holland and sailed to
America about 1684. Marinus and Pieternelle settled in the Kingston, NY area
and raised eight children. Today descendants of Marinus and Pieternelle are
living in all areas of the United States. We are also aware of at least three other
Van Aken families that immigrated to the United States and have
researched these families as well.
In 1984 I began publishing
a small quarterly newsletter to share family history and information. Articles
have included: "In Search of Van Aken Origins in Europe", "The
Old Mine Road", "Notes on Our European Cousins", "Bible
Records", "Cemetery Records", "Stories of the Van Aken/Van
Auken Pioneers", "Queries", "Lost Cousins",
