Marjorie Roland Hatley, 96, of Colonie, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Ellis Hospital. She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Mary and Rutson Van Auken. She is the wife of the late Edmund J. Roland and Walter S. Hatley. Marjorie has been a lifelong resident of Colonie. She was employed in the kitchen of the former Maywood School and at Platt's Dairy several years ago. She was a member of the Colonie Village Seniors. She is the beloved mother of Raymond Roland of Colonie, Donald Roland (Mina) of West Palm Beach, Fla., Leland Roland of Las Vegas, Nev. and Audrey Fall (George) of Temecula, Calif. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Esther, Earl, Stanley and Benjamin Van Auken. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Kingsway Manor Assisted Living and especially to Amanda for their special dedication and caring for our mother during her two-year stay at Kingsway. Funeral services will be Monday morning at 8:15 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to Our Savior's Lutheran Church at 9:00. Calling hours will be Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden.
