July 9, 2000 - Talked with Elsie at the Lacey family reunion about RJ Lacey and George Lacey
She said RJ came from one of the Southern states (Kentucky according to Harold Lacey) and lived in Lanesboro Pa for a while where his children were born. When George was 12 they went out west by boat on the great lakes. They came back later and lived in Lanesboro again.
She said George lived off the land and was a hunter/trapper in the lake above Ithica and even spent time working on the Erie canal. Harold Lacey said that George never worked a day in his life. After a while he went back to Lanesboro where his children were born.
