[16351] “In all, there were three log cabins on the Henry D. Sheeley farm. The first one was in the first cleared field which was south of the road and the cabin was a short distance in the back of the patch of ground which was later used for the garden. Who lived in the first cabin, no-one seems to know. A second log cabin was located in the yard where the present house is located. It was in this cabin Henry D. Sheeley and his bride Hannah M. Van Aken started housekeeping in 1851. They lived there 21 years and six children were born in the cabin. The dirt cellar for their vegetables was a short distance from the cabin in the pasture field. The knoll is still noticeable.
